Biography
Muhammad Jabidul Islam Bhuiyan is a Research Associate at the Bangladesh Society of International Law (BSIL) and a senior undergraduate law student at BRAC University. Previously, he has served BSIL as Judge Md Wahidul Islam Research Assistant. His academic and research interests lie in the law of the sea, environmental law, and private international law, with a particular focus on the intersection of transboundary water management, climate justice, and corporate liability in South Asia.
Before joining BSIL, Jabid worked as a Human Rights Advocacy and Lobbying Intern at Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD), where he contributed to research and advocacy initiatives addressing Bangladesh's human rights concerns. He also served as a Program Assistant with Map of Justice’s Environment Cohort, conducting research on transboundary water governance and climate-induced displacement in Bangladesh. He has presented his research on transitional justice and human rights at a national academic symposium and is actively involved in youth-led initiatives that promote legal awareness.
Through his work at BSIL, he aims to advance scholarly dialogue and policy understanding on issues central to international law and global justice.
